Divya Orphanage

Divya Orphanage was established in 2003 at Trichy, Tamil Nadu as a home for street children, semi orphans and orphans. It is run by HOPE Worldwide India.

Children begging on the streets are a common sight in India. Most of the country’s underprivileged children do not have access to education, shelter and other basic needs. The aim of HOPE Worldwide India is to bring hope to those with no hope. Its goal is to change the lives of specially the poor whom we serve. It is a charity organization that changes lives by harnessing the compassion and commitment of dedicated staff and volunteers to deliver sustainable, high-impact, community-based services to the poor, needy and the vulnerable. The same dedication can be seen at the orphanage at Trichy.

Till date the orphanage has supported 527 children. Currently, there are 30 children at the home. The children are provided with shelter, care, clothing, education and counselling for mental and physical wellbeing. Most of the children at the home come from a very grim and disheartening backgrounds. Some of the children were picked up from the streets by the Child Welfare Committee, while others were referred to the home through NGOs, CWC and other like-minded organizations.

The home provides and is actively involved in upgrading the educational and mental development of the children. The children are enrolled at government schools for continuous education. The staff of the orphanage are making painstaking efforts in the enhancement of children in their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. They are teaching and counselling the children so as to inculcate in them hope, faith and instilling confidence in them so they can attain a better quality and outlook in life.

We have an urgent and earnest requirement at HOPE Worldwide India, Divya Orphanage. We are in need of clothes, footwear, food essentials, educational expenses, medicines and books for the children.
