Viewing Hope Through the Lens

To reach their goal of helping 1 million children by 2012, HOPE worldwide Indonesia recently held its third annual photography contest for charity. Finalists in the contest were taken to the island of Nias to explore and capture the culture and beauty there.

The trip to Nias ended with a visit to HOPE worldwide Indonesia's Center of HOPE in Nias where the photographers got to meet the children who would benefit from the sale of their photographs. The Center of HOPE provides English class, preschool services and a Computer Learning Center.

With the financial support of United Way ending soon, many of HOPE worldwide Indonesia's programs are scheduled to end in December.

“We hope people will want to help us raise funds to continue these programs after seeing the pictures produced by the photographers who participated in the HOPE worldwide Photography Festival,” Enrico Daniel H. Sitompul, HOPE worldwide Indonesia spokesperson said.
